Welcome to the Other side

Howdy Gang,
I have arrived and am settling into my new zone, the Eastern Sierras, Bishop, Ca. to be exact. I will refer to it as the Eastside most times, so now you know where I am at.

I filled my little truck to the gills and moved most of my worldly possessions to the house of Tai and Mary Devore in downtown Bishop. If you have ever been here, you will know that is a bit of a joke, as downtown Bishop is anything within sight of Hwy 395, which is most of Bishop. Since arriving on the 18th, I have started doing massages at the Bishop Yoga and Massage Center and tomorrow I start my retail gig at Wilson's Eastside Sports. Besides all the work stuff, I have pedaled my beach cruiser into the wind, tipped back some cold PBR's and driven my truck down some really dusty roads. Not necessarily in that order of course.

Actually, I have been up to a couple of nice lakes and hiked around some really spectacular rock formations. My best companion for adventures so far has been Eincone's, (Betsey's cattle dog). That dog will run, jump, hike, scramble, and keep up with you all day long. We spent hours looking for boulders out in Benton. After that, I scouted out a bunch of roads to ride and they all share a couple of things in common: They all start climbing right out of town (elevation 4500) and they are all exposed to the wind and the sun. (Oh yeah, it was 101 degrees this evening at 5:00 pm. I hope the sunburn I got today turns into a sweet tan.) Looks like some really good road riding with most of the climbs topping out near 10,000 feet most of the time. Unfortunately most of the rides are up and backs unless you are willing to hike the ridge for miles until you can find another road to descend on.

Well that's the first update, stay posted for more. . .
